API limits

Work with limits from connected services.

Updated: 2026-04-25 Nederlandse versie

Connected services can limit the number of API calls. TimeToBill tries to account for those limits while fetching entries, checking data, and writing back tags.

Where limits can appear

API limits can affect actions when:

  • you fetch many entries at once;
  • you create many invoices in a row;
  • tag write-back is enabled;
  • a provider temporarily accepts fewer requests.

Handling by TimeToBill

TimeToBill can wait, retry, or show a message. What you see depends on the provider and the action you are performing.

Reduce API calls

You can reduce API calls by:

  • choosing a smaller period;
  • using filters;
  • selecting only the entries you need;
  • turning tag write-back off.

Service settings

If TimeToBill asks for the subscription type or limit of a connected service, choose the option that matches your account. Start conservatively if you are not sure, then increase later if everything works well.
