TimeToBill file
The local file where TimeToBill stores your settings and billing status.
TimeToBill stores your settings and billing status in a local file on your computer. That file is called a TimeToBill file, or .ttb file. It is stored on your own computer.
File contents
The TimeToBill file stores:
- settings;
- billing status of entries.
Not stored in the file
API keys are not stored in the TimeToBill file. They are stored in your operating system's secure storage.
Your time entries and invoices also remain with the services you connect.
Where to store it
Store the file somewhere you can back it up easily. You can also use a cloud folder, but do not use the same TimeToBill file on two computers at the same time.
Backups
Make a backup before you:
- use TimeToBill on another computer;
- switch time tracker;
- change important settings;
- install an update where you want to be extra careful.
A backup can be simple: close TimeToBill and copy the TimeToBill file to a safe location.
Moving
If you want to use TimeToBill on another computer, copy the TimeToBill file and open it there through Settings -> File location.
Set up your license and API keys separately on the new computer.
